Initiatives to Share Principles of Action for Suppliers
Efforts to make the Principles of Action understood by and shared with suppliers
Each operating company in J. Front Retailing Group (the “Group”) mailed the Principles of Action for Suppliers to the presidents of suppliers and asked for support to make the ideas and rules of the “JFR Principles of Action for Suppliers,” which were formulated in June 2019, understood by and shared with suppliers. (The entire Group sent them to a total of 8,613 companies as of October 31, 2019.)
On October 23, 2019, Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores, a major operating company, held an “explanatory meeting on the JFR Principles of Action for Suppliers” in Tokyo and Osaka at the same time and 652 people from 530 companies attended it. In the meeting, Mr. Yamamoto, the President of J. Front Retailing, explained the corporate mission statement and the Group’s initiatives for sustainability management and Mr. Yoshimoto, the President of Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores, explained the environment surrounding Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores and the company’s recognition of social issues and initiatives to solve them. Then we asked suppliers to understand and support the Principles of Action to be complied with by us and suppliers.
Through these efforts, we, together with suppliers, will fulfill our social responsibilities and thereby mutually enhance corporate value.
